The Undelivered Letter

One fine morning the doorbell rings and waiting at the door is Mr. Brook the local postman with a letter to deliver. She answers the door and greets Mr. Brook Good morning but her face clearly reflects her fear to see him. She simply stands in silence waiting for Mr. Brook to speak, he gathers his strength and says, "I am sorry Betty but this is the last letter for you from Steve" Betty breaks down into tears and says, "I knew he isn't coming back!"

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to vasifsays.blogspot.com. I bring to you a short story about a girl who writes her feelings to someone who isn't coming back.

Betty writes a reply to the last letter she received from Steve, hands the letter to Mr. Brook unsure if this letter will make a difference just hoping he reads it one day and returns.

Dear Steve,

You and I have feelings which are still unspoken,
The bridge that stands between us why is it broken?

The decisions taken with all that persistence
Didn't win the battle but created some distance

Why? why did our paths cross Overnight?
I know you were never wrong, neither I was ever right.

Please... take me along cause I need your help,
I don't wish to stay, don't wish to stay with myself.

Yes, there is this distance but I am sure without treason,
I ain't asking questions cause we both have our reasons.

Why? Why did we only saw dark and not the light?
I know you were never wrong, neither I was ever right.

Whoever wins this battle but I think I won't last,
I can't take any decisions cause I still live in my past.

I wish those beautiful days could come back,
I would see that smile and fix those cracks.

But now you are there and I am here,
Sitting alone in all that fear,
Asking the same questions every year,
Stuck in past which ain't clear,
Thinking now you were so dear,
Losing you was so severe,
I need help but no one near,
Only one wish with is sincere,
I turn around and you would appear.

Please.... take me along,
This wait......... is getting long........

Betty.

If you are wondering the story is incomplete, well so is for Betty.
Thank you for reading.
