Be a Man

My friend believes men should be more expressive, 

On this thought let's dive deep and get more pensive. 

 

The stereotype society keeps both men & women suppressive, 

And only a few speak in this world which is oppressive. 

 

To the women, 

 

You simply follow the trends like you all are successive, 

Demand a man strong in character but yet should not be possessive.

If I am of a strong character then why would I lose someone or something without a fight? Right?! 

 

We know you'll don't require us but yet demand us to be attentive, 

Also, we know you'll are self-dependent but yet require us to be protective.

Wouldn't you judge a man who doesn't pay attention to you and cannot defend? 

 

Be yourself is the cry but yet his every step is corrective, 

Eventually, as time goes by the relationship is soon subjective. 

I ain't saying women are at fault but tell me does this sentence trigger you, 'Be a woman!'? But, 'Be a Man!' is a command given by many. 

 

Man's life should be with plans which are always progressive, 

Here we welcome you to our life's plan no matter how congestive. 

Just like we don't judge your age, we expect you don't judge us by our income. 

 

The rules to protect women are well defined and excessive,

I agree they should be, as offenses against them are progressive. 

The rules were made to protect but now they are used for fake feminism and blackmail. 

 

These are a few thoughts that keep my feelings collective, 

Because as a man I am forever judged and leave no room to be expressive. 

 

As a man, I should be allowed to be expressive, 

To ask for help, 

To break down, 

To not be okay, 

To cry,

To go to therapy, 

To be vulnerable, 

To need support 

It's not an insult if a woman is been said don't be like a man but it is an insult when a man is said, don't act like a woman.  

Hence I accept the responsibility of being a Man and keep my feelings to be limited. Because the day I express, I am vulnerable, and as an individual, you decide whether you want to be vulnerable or not. 

It's like defense, the moment you express you let your guard down. 

Hence instil a habit of conversation with words which are few,

And don't ask questions you don't need an answer to.
